Investigator-Initiated Research on Minority Health and Health Disparities Program
The Investigator-Initiated Research on Minority Health and Health Disparities Program, or Research Project Grants, support research projects in two broad areas: (1) basic applied biomedical research and (2) social, behavioral, health services, and policy research. For both areas, projects should include a focus on one or more health disparity populations, which include African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders, socioeconomically disadvantaged populations, and rural populations. The focus can be on a single health disparity population or subgroup or on health disparity populations as a whole.
