Guest Speaker Bio - Mr. Bill Z. Tan

Mr. Bill Z. Tan, founder and CEO of Transcendent Endeavors, leads a talented team to address communication challenges in the fields of healthcare, social services and education. His work focuses on enabling underserved populations such as those who have low functional health literacy and/or limited English proficiency. Supported by a number of NIH Small Business Innovation Research awards, the company's products include clinical information systems (Starling Health), telehealth outreach platforms (Vocatta), and educational offerings for working professionals (Canopy) and children (MiniMiti).

Bill received a bachelor's degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University, where he was elected President of the Entrepreneurs Club. He has previously held an appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine, and currently serves on the External Advisory Board for the Center for Advanced Information Management at Columbia University. Bill was named one of Crain's 40 Under 40 Rising Stars, and was named by former mayor Michael Bloomberg as a New York City Venture Fellow.
