NIMHD Partnership With Healthy Hearts Network

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and is largely preventable. NIMHD is partnering with the Healthy Hearts Network to promote messages of The Heart Truth® program, an initiative that focuses on increasing awareness about heart disease and its risk factors.

The Healthy Hearts Network is led by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and is a robust net of public and private organizations committed to promoting heart health through outreach, research, and social and digital media. Supporting organizations represent national organizations with local affiliates, state and federal agencies, and academic, civic, and nonprofit institutions with a demonstrated interest in heart health.

The Network extends the reach of NHLBI’s research information and programs into local communities across the country, while encouraging people to take heart-healthy actions.
