Guest Speaker Bio - Dr. David Chae

Dr. David H. Chae is an assistant professor of epidemiology at the University of Maryland, College Park, School of Public Health. He was a W.K. Kellogg Predoctoral Fellow in Health Policy at the Harvard School of Public Health where he obtained his doctoral degree in Social Epidemiology; and was also a Robert Wood Johnson Health and Society Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley and San Francisco. His research focuses on how dimensions of racism generate racial disparities in health. David is currently the principal investigator of a K01 career development award from the National Institute on Aging to study links between racial minority stress and risk factors for accelerated biological aging. He also studies how racism at the area-level impacts health and mortality.
